We’re Sarah and Eloise, the mother and daughter duo who founded Living a Colourful Life!
Two positive-minded, spiritual, fun-loving women with a shared passion for creativity, colour, and bringing joy to everyday life. Our story began long before this brand ever existed, shaped by a connection that has grown stronger through every chapter we’ve experienced together...
Eloise is Sarah’s first born, the eldest of three. The two of them spent the early years of Eloise’s childhood side by side in South West London, before Florence and Henry arrived and the family made the move to the beautiful Cotswolds. Those early years together created a closeness that shaped who they both are today. Young Eloise was rarely far from Sarah’s side, often accompanying her (sometimes willingly, sometimes less so) through long hours in lighting and fabric shops, endless meetings, and plenty of time in the interiors studio where Sarah worked for 16 years before later opening her own company, Floella Interiors. There were mood boards, fabric swatches, too many cushions to count, and more cups of coffee than anyone should reasonably drink in one day.
From those moments, a shared passion for interiors, art, design, and creative expression naturally flourished. As Eloise grew into her teenage years, their bond only strengthened. They spent time creating together, networking, hosting parties, surfing in Cornwall with our family, and gradually Eloise also began working behind the scenes for Floella Interiors. What began as helping out and exchanging ideas soon evolved into a genuine creative partnership.
However, their relationship grew in the most profound way when life presented them with some incredibly difficult challenges. Among other hardships, the toughest was facing sudden losses of loved ones taken far too soon.
When Sarahs brother was killed, the family's world came to a halt. Perspective and gratitude for life comes rushing in. She later lost one of her closest friends to a battle with cancer, and very shortly after lost her ex-husband, the father to her two youngest children overnight to a sudden heart attack. The shocking passing of three deeply significant people in their lives brought immense sorrow, yet also strengthened their connection in ways we could never have imagined. Through those periods of grief, one shared belief carried them forward: a commitment to keep moving towards the light, to honour the gift of life, and to live fully and intentionally for those who no longer have that opportunity. Also, to pass this message down to Florence and Henry as they help them navigate this unimaginable time of grief.
This perspective became a guiding philosophy for them both. They felt a strong calling to share this message, that choosing hope, seeking beauty, and appreciating even the smallest moments is not only powerful, but necessary.
After years of working so naturally together, and following Eloise’s graduation in Fashion Design in London, they knew the moment had arrived to build something meaningful side by side. So, Living a Colourful Life was born! A lifestyle brand and growing community that celebrates colour, creativity, joy, and a wholehearted approach to living.
Beginning with thoughtfully designed home and lifestyle pieces created in house by them. Featuring custom artwork by Eloise, to uplift, encourage slowing down, and to bring warmth and happiness to everyday rituals. But their vision extends far beyond products! "We hope to nurture a community of like-minded people who believe that embracing life fully is the greatest tribute we can offer to those we have loved and lost. We look to tell stories, create experiences and bring you a fun and unique hub to shine some light on those darker days."
"At the core of everything we do is our mother and daughter relationship. Grounded in love, resilience, humour, and shared purpose. Living a Colourful Life represents so much more than a business to us.
It is a reminder to live brightly, to welcome joy, and to celebrate life, together.
We’re so grateful you’re here!"
